Since 2001

2001

Lyte Ladders founded by Cyril Harcourt Matthews at Crindau, Newport.

1950

Opened large manufacturing facility in Rogerstone, Newport, employing around 120 people.

1953

Lyte Ladders were part of the historic first ascent of Mount Everest, and the ladder remains there today — a testament to the unrivalled strength and longevity of our products.

1955

Second ladder manufacturing facility opened at Ronaldsway, Isle of Man.

1959

Third division of Lyte was established near Wellington, New Zealand.

1990

Rogerstone factory relocated to Ystradgynlais, Powys.

2011

Manufacturing facility relocated to our current site in Swansea.

2019

Breal Capital bought Lyte Ladders, bringing substantial investment to the business.

2023

Acquired LFI and Titan brands to form the largest British access equipment manufacturing group - Lyte LFI.

2024

Lyte LFI’s Carbon Reduction Plan to get to Net Zero by 2050 initiated with the installation of solar panels.

In the 1970’s, Hal and Brigitte Wing met a German painter who had an interesting idea and a primitive prototype of a new kind of ladder. With that painter’s blessing, Hal enhanced the ladder and started what is now known as Little Giant Ladder Systems®. After Little Giant’s conception, the brand became a household name and staple in our local community of Utah, USA, with it continuing to steadily grow across the country. Over the years, we have partnered with incredible retailers and vendors to make our elite ladders more accessible to you.
